Give It A Whirl
Through funding from the Southern Community Development Forum, we ran free taster sessions in a number of villages.
These were an opportunity for local residents to come along and try a range of opportunities, have fun, learn new things and meet with others.
On this page you will find some of the resources we used for each Give it a Whirl taster session. We thought it would be handy to provide these here, so that more people can access these ideas and the opportunities to Give it a Whirl.
Hello, Is It Me You’re Looking For?
Social Media can be a great resource to use, as an individual, or as a business, but it can also have pit falls. In general, this all depends on how you use it and what you make of it. It pays to use Social Media conscientiously, so as to avoid the potential pitfalls.
General rules to work to when using social media:
Am I ok with…
- this existing forever?
- this being read by anyone?
- this being used to profile who I am
If so – post away!
Food Glorious Food
It is so important to enjoy food. Too often food can be associated with guilt and/or necessity, rather than pleasure and fun.
Enjoying food, whilst looking after yourself, can be a difficult juggling act. We love food! But we also want to be kind to our bodies, and our minds. So we have put together a few of our ideas to help inspire a varied and yummy variety of food and meals, to aid a healthy lifestyle.
Learning an instrument can be a fantastic experience and provide wonderful opportunities. Our guitar workshop gave people a chance to find out more about guitar playing and to give it a go too.
If you know someone who plays an instrument, why not ask to give it a whirl some time?! It is great fun, even if just as a one-off experience.
